Whoa! Do I need to start every post with how I can't believe time keeps moving. I am tying super hard to slow it down.
Eli you are 9 months old today.
You have grown and changed so much since my last update.
You love to play and sits super easy to get you to laugh and smile because you are a super happy guy.
Barn and Lila are your favorites. You follow barn around the house saying "cat" "cat" you love to pet her and are aometimes gentle. Lila and I are teaching you gentle touches but you love to grab the fur and pull. Poor barn, she doesn't kind too much, she just ups and leaves when she is done.
You love to color. It really supriised me being so young. You started coloring on the wall so I set you up on the easel and it's one of your favorite places. When you see a crayon or marker (or stick) on the ground you see what you can design. You have colored on the floor several times as well... That's what happens when you have an artist for a older sister, art supplies everywhere.
You are also a drummer. You drum with our hands back and forth which impresses your fans! You love to play with Andrews drum kit, a little drum set Lila got and the drum we have. You enjoy playing all the interments including the xylophone and shakers too! With the electronic music (piano and guitar) you make them play and then dance and clap along. It's so fun watching you grow.
You have just recently started some new dance moves going side to side.
When we laugh, you laugh. When we sing you sing. When Lila crys you (sometimes) cry.
I can say Ridley in a way that makes you smile. We call you Mr Ridley sometimes too.
You love food. Grapes, pretzels, apples and pears, berries, chickpeas, carrots, beans, noodles. I foresee a very very hungry teenage boy in about 13 years!
You have said Lila a few times now. You say dog. Of course mama and dada. You have lots and lots of new sounds. You say dada and wave at the same time! And wave on command and you love giving me high fives.
You point a lot. You turn your head sideways in the cutest way. I have realized I do the same to you.
You have learned how to scooch safely off the bed and couch.
You love banging on the windows on the bed. It's one of the first things you do every morning. Look out the window smiling and cooing. Pointing at the trees.
I ask you what you see. You answer me with sound and a point. You play peek a boo behind the curtain. Smiling the entire time. You now have 6 teeth. Two on the bottom and you fourth just broke through on the top.
I haven't posted in almost 2 months. It's because I have been busy with work and life and enjoying it with you. I have lots of pictures to share. Now it's December and we have your first Christmas tree. Can we just have Christmas trees indoors always? Or a tree in every house? You seem to like it. This morning you went after the presents and lights but the pine needles kept you back. You did grab a ornament but Lila didn't let that happen too long. You are lucky Eli, you have a big sister who is always watching out for you. She loves being your big sister and takes her job seriously. One day 9 months ago her life changes forever. And she has been a kind, loving, patient, sweet sweet soul the whole way. She holds your hand in the car. She makes you giggle. She loves to hug you and kiss you. And roll around with you. You guys play together a lot. She makes you smile always. Last week I was in the kitchen and heard you laughing I stood just outside the doorway and peering in and watched you drawl up and down Lila's pink chair that was pushed against her tent, you were climbing up and down popping over the back to surprise Lila. You were both cracking up. My heart burst into a million hearts. (A Lila expression) it was so fun watching the two of you play.
I love you Eli the sweetest little boy I know.
